Home Improvements
Tired of merely punching holes in apartments, Carlos has moved on to some slightly larger projects in the new house.  Here is a log of our activities.
12/25/04 New to this year's decorations are: a five foot wreath, lanterns for the post, garland on the posts, snowman stake lights along the walk, and candles in the windows.

12/25/03 The first Christmas for Ryan demanded that I put up lights! (Really I had been looking forward to this for some time.)

10/31/03 The first holiday for which we could decorate arrived, and we (mainly Carlos) couldn't wait.  With the help of Carlos' sister Cheryl, we put together a little something to celebrate Halloween.
5/10/03 After 2 weekends of activity, we finally got the beadboard up in the nursery.  Jeff was here for the big part of the work, and we slowly finished it up.  The project required new tools!  I got the DeWalt 12" Compound Miter Saw and a DeWalt JigSaw.

4/26/03 Painted the nursery for our baby due in June.  Our first painting in some time was quite the learning experience.  We'll make sure the next one goes smoother.
3/2/03 Finally put up the flag.
2/23/03 The grass was getting a little high, so we went out and got our first lawnmower and had our inaugural mowing.  The front acreage is little small, so the inaugural mowing only took 10 minutes.  Click here for more photos.
2/1/03 Fearing muddy treks to the garage, I put in some paver stepping stones from the house to the garage.  I started out digging them fully into the ground.  After a few of those, I wised up and put them only slightly dug in.

First project had to be putting up the Satellite dish.  Very critical.  Jeff came up for the weekend to help with this and some other activities.  We also put up the Garage door opener, the model with 2x speed and more power of course.  And lastly, we swapped the living room and dining room by moving dining room light fixture and the phone and cable outlets.
